Performing Arts Teaching

I am a qualified and experienced voice teacher. I also teach music theory, and beginner piano. I am able to offer dance and acting workshops, and am also the founder of the performing arts company OmniArts GB.

Private Singing Lessons

I offer voice and singing lessons for all ages and abilities. Whether you want to make singing your career, are currently working in the music industry, or just want to sing for fun or build your confidence, I tailor my lessons to you, so you get what you want out of it. I have a wide range of knowledge about the development of the voice, how to use your voice safely, and techniques across a range of genres of music.

Workshops and Team Building

From one off workshops and team building programmes, to regular linked workshops, I am able to offer a wide range of performing arts workshops on different themes for all types of groups.

Teaching Style

I am a professional singing teacher, who has been teaching vocals since 2010 to students of all ages and abilities. From total beginners to singers who regularly perform, I have taught a huge variety of people.

I specialise in teaching musical theatre and popular music however my passion is helping a student learn how their voice works (and how to look after your voice when singing), which means I am able to teach most styles, and have previously taught singers who perform a wide range of genres – from rap to RnB to heavy metal, and more.

I am currently engaged in ongoing training for trans voices, both transfeminine and transmasculine.

Inclusivity and Equality

I understands that booking a singing lesson can be a big, and scary thing for a lot of people. I am an advocate of personal growth and self love, am a part of the queer community, and am an #Allin Ambassador. Your sexuality, gender identity, race, religion, disability or age have no impact on how I will see you, and I welcome anyone for singing lessons.

I believe that singing is hugely linked to our emotions, and to sing is a very personal, and often difficult thing to do. My lessons are tailored to each student, and are as different in structure from each other, as each of my students are unique.

As well as working with the student to help them achieve exactly what they want from their voice, I provide a safe space for all my students to talk about things other than music if they would like to. In my opinion and experience, allowing space to discuss things that are worrying the student, or for them to say something that is on their mind, always gives better results in the vocal things we do and how much they learn from that lesson, than if I were to be strict and structured in how a singing lesson looks.

I have found throughout my life that I am a person that other people feel able to open up to quite easily, and I am proud of the fact that I am not “just a singing teacher” but also someone that my students feel is a safe person to be able to talk to about things that they may otherwise not say to anyone else.

If you have any worries or concerns about booking a singing lesson, please be assured that I will welcome you, and my studio is a safe space for you to learn at your own pace, and in a way that you want to.

I have over 15 years of professional vocal training under my belt, and the following qualifications: The Vocal Process Singing Teachers Retreat, The Vocal Process Advanced Retreat (CPD accredited), Vocal Intuition Teachers’ Toolkit, Grade 5 and 6 Singing in Trinity, Grade 5 Acting in Trinity, up to Grade 5 in Modern Jazz Dance and Tap Dance, and up to Grade 7 in Ballet. I have a fully enhanced DBS and public liability insurance, both of which are available for you to see on request.

Why take singing lessons?

Everyone chooses to learn to sing for different reasons. In my lessons the focus is on what you want to do. Whether you would like to perform on stage, or sing just for fun, private lessons can help: improve your vocal range, performance technique, repertoire and confidence.

I am able to put you through exams (with the Trinity board), enter you in competitions, and provide performance opportunities. I am also a Bronze, Silver and Gold Arts Award Adviser.

Lessons are available for all ages and abilities and are held at my home studio in Copnor, Portsmouth (Hampshire, UK), or online via Zoom, Skype, Facebook messenger video calls or WhatsApp video calls, so whether you would like your child to start singing, are an adult who has always wanted to sing yourself, or have been performing for years, get in touch.
