For over 7 years I have been running my own performing arts company, which I set up alone with nothing but my determination and a plan.
Today I am still entirely self-employed. My company isn’t a “side-hustle” or a passion project, it’s my sole career. But getting here wasn’t a linear path. I made a lot of mistakes and learnt lessons the hard way. But I came out of it all an expert in how to set up as a freelancer, and run a small business. Now I want to pass on that expertise to you.

“But I have no money!”
I hear you.
I know how difficult it is to justify spending money at the beginning of setting up a business, and sometimes, your circumstances might mean you would rather muddle through and figure it out yourself – I know, because this is what I did!
I also know that more startups fail than succeed (estimates I have seen is that 90% of startups fail), and one of the reasons I was able to push through that statistic, is because I had a bigger privilege than most in regard to understanding businesses, because – to throw myself head-first into a cliche – it’s in my blood.
Why Should You Work With Me?
To be a little less poetic, my family is full of self employed people and business owners, so I grew up with business talk all around me, even if I didn’t realise it at the time; my whole life had been training me to be self employed.
Along with this, I have always had a brain for business. When I was 8, I set up a hair plaiting business because my friends all wanted their hair like mine, and I knew how to do it, and I started a handmade jewellery business when I was in college.
My private students, my company group members, and the practitioners who work with me – are my family. I invest in them as people, and I’m given the privilege of being a part of their personal growth. Whether that is a 12 year old, a teenager, a young adult, or someone older than myself – everyone always has something new to learn throughout life (including me!) and I adore being a part of all of their lives.
“No but really – I have no money”
I also know, there’s probably a lot of people reading this saying “well it’s alright for you, but I literally don’t have any money”. To those of you saying that, I hear you, and I know how that feels.
The whole reason I started business coaching is to help those who feel like they’ll never be able to achieve their dreams, because of circumstances. So, please, reach out and talk to me.
Despite the phrase “money makes the world go round”, I know there are other ways to do business. In the past I have offered payment plans, percentage of profit agreements, special offers for particular situations or ideas, and, one of my favourites – energy exchanges.
